US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) stated on Tuesday that it will conduct a second round of random selections for the H-1B visa for the fiscal year 2025, according to the regular annual 65,000 visa limit.
A second lottery for the FY 2024 H1B cap will be held, according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This decision was made in response to the large volume of registrations and the subsequent investigation of numerous registrations for the same person. USCIS decided to conduct a second lottery to guarantee that all available slots for H1B visas be filled suitably.
Earlier this year, it created a unique beneficiary-centric registration process that it claimed would prevent system abuse and fraud.
It also implemented fee increases, raising the registration fee by 2050% to $215 from $10 and the application fee by 70% to $780 from $460, which has sparked worry in the Indian IT industry.
